Abstrak

This study aims to analyze the influence of leadership style and work environment on employee job satisfaction at the Department of Manpower in Makassar City. The research method employed is a quantitative approach with an associative type of study. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 50 respondents, all of whom are active employees. Data analysis was carried out using SPSS version 26 with multiple linear regression techniques. The results of the validity and reliability tests showed that all instrument items were declared valid and reliable. Based on the multiple linear regression analysis, it was found that leadership style (X1) has a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction (Y), with a significance value of 0.012 < 0.05 and a beta coefficient of 0.317. Similarly, the work environment (X2) also has a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction with a significance value of 0.001 < 0.05 and a beta coefficient of 0.528. The R Square value of 0.674 indicates that leadership style and work environment can explain 67.4% of the variation in employee job satisfaction, while the remaining 32.6% is influenced by other unexamined variables. It can be concluded that improving effective leadership and creating a conducive work environment play a crucial role in enhancing employee job satisfaction. These findings are expected to serve as a reference in managerial policy development in government institutions.
